Strengths: Very comfortable and seems to be fast.Weaknesses: WeightBottom Line: I started riding in 1999 with no idea about what type of bike to get. I liked Greg Lamond so I got the Nevada City in 2001 an upgrade from my 80's 10 speed. The Lamond rides great as far as I know. I have put Rolf Vector wheels on it and clip less pedals and a new head set and seat post. I can ride with most riders and I love this bike. I just did the MS 150 (167 miles in 2 days) and it road great. The only thing I can see that is a weakness is the weight of the bike.

Strengths: Very smooth ride and nice components for dollar spent.Weaknesses: Generic brakes flexed so replaced them with Sora that fixed the problem. Toe straps replaced after breaking.Bottom Line: Purchased for exercise after severe heart attack at age 66. Very smooth ride and easy to adjust from mountain bike. Sora components shift flawlessly. Improved my speed and endurance from 6 miles to 30 miles per day in 6 weeks. Nice workmanship. No problems at all with comfort or with bike and its components.

Strengths: The frame geometry and 520 tubing. The sora components work like many higer priced units. The matrix tripple wall rims are holding up to NYC sreets.Weaknesses: The only weakness I can find is the hubs are cheep.I blew a seal out on the rear hub,it was screehing from rubbing on the hub it self.Upon inspection it was from an excess of grease from when the bearings were packed.I cleaned the excess off the axel and seal with wd40 and poped the seal back on, I've since done 125mi and the problem has not resufaced.Bottom Line: I am very happy with the bike. It's light and resposive. The Shimano components are working flawless.

Strengths: Handling, comfort, paint job.Weaknesses: Not a $2000 bike, so less cosmetic components.Bottom Line: This is the second Trek racer I've had. It's designed by Greg LeMond (3 time Tour De France reader for those who don't know) and that geometry is what makes the bike exceptional. Everything about the ride says top end. Shimano components are not jewel like (Sora) but function flawlessly. Handling is telepathic.

Strengths: Weight, geometry, balance and pretty cool paint job.Weaknesses: I'm starting to learn rodey gear and wish I the bike came with upgraded shifters. It comes with a thumb clicker instead of all shifting action on brake lever.Bottom Line: I am an avid off road cyclist who wanted a road bike to commute to work. Bike shop suggested this as entry level. What a great ride. I thought I would hate road riding. After I started riding this bike I was hooked. If you're looking for a perfect intro bike get this one and you'll feel like you're riding a higher end ride.
