Strengths: Quiet sturdy 853 Reynolds Steel, can't get much better than that unless you go titanium!Weaknesses: None!Bottom Line: This Bike is Fantastic, light, sturdy, and FAST!!! Tiagra jumps every once in a while under pressure. The reynolds 853 steel makes for an exceptional ride,
what a great bike. Lemond is an A+ manufacturer, I'm incredibly impressed. Sad that they discontinued this model for 2005.

Bike Setup: Right now it's somewhat stock, i removed the heavier mavic rims and crappy tires for lighter Alexrims DA22's and Vittoria rubino's, will swap out the forks, handle bars and seat post for carbon shortly, it should take a few pounds off this 23lb bike

Strengths: a good road bike. a great step above a hardtail mtb bike with road tires without losing control. much faster ride. it has made my work route fun again.Weaknesses: the shifting jumps. grrrr!! i will have to upgrade. the bar and seat are cheap. i switched to carbon bar, it has taken alot of the vibration away. best upgrade yet. awsome. changed to selle italia seat. also for the better.Bottom Line: the bike rides well. responds quick to changes. helpfull in avoiding potholes, nails, and such. does o.k. in group rides, but it is good for its job. to commute. the flat bars with the ergo ends are a great choice for a nice stable predictable ride.

Strengths: Steel Frame (comfort). Fast and smooth. Frame is long enough to stretch out a little. Bike handles road obsticles well.Weaknesses: The Tiagra Shifting system is not a quick as I expected, but has been adequate for my daily commute.Bottom Line: Spent a year researching and looking at different commuter bikes. My research brought me to the Wayzata. I read reviews, spoke with other commuters. It was an excellent choice. I have over 400 miles on it and find it meets all my expectations. It is on a cross frame, so I look forward to changing the tires and doing some off-road work. The bike is very smooth, fast and comfortable. I cannot say enough about the staff at City Bicycle Works. They were very tolerant as I came in and road-tested (for long periods of time) a multitude of bicycles.

Strengths: Steel frame
Sure handling (excellent at dodging traffic and car doors)
Good on wet pavement.
Cane Creek bar ends provide lots of comfotable hand positions.Weaknesses: Tiagra hops once in awhile when pushed hard.
Handlebars a bit wide on the 55 frame. Would recommend the narrower bars.Bottom Line: For commuting, this bike's a winner. I have been riding a mountain frame (hardtail) with narrow, slick tires back and forth to work for eight years (25 miles roundtrip), all seasons. I wanted something a little quicker that still gave me the handlebar control (particularly in winter) that I can't get from a road bike with dropped bars. This bike has made me take longer rides each morning. I get up earlier and I ride farther. Nice riding, sure, stable, and quick. Nothing like a steel frame for someone my size (6'0", 200 lbs.). First winter coming up. Will report back later...
