Strengths: Comfortable, sturdy, responsive (even under my 6'2, 280 lb body!)
Love the Navy Blue and gold paint schemeWeaknesses: Heavy
Schwinn name has been cheapened by Walmart, and other retailers
cheap wheelsetBottom Line: I like this bike I have owned it for just about two years after an upgrade from an old Vitus Dural 979. This isn't the Wal-Mart Schwinn that unfortunately people think of now when they hear the name Schwinn. The frame is fairly responsive, however heavy for a size large. I replaced the stock rear wheel with a Mavic CXP 22 (now replaced both wheels with a nice set of Vueltas), because the spokes kept breaking. But hell, the rims were 5 years old when I bought the thing (and I am not exacly small). I have ridden in several long distance rides, including an Ultracycling event in Ohio, and didn't have any problems over the past couple years. However, I am having a hard time keeping the bike in tune now even after replacing the shifting cables. Now looking to upgrade at the end of this season.
