Strengths: Waterproof, tough, easy attachment.Weaknesses: None really, they are a little expensive. Fabric gets very still below about 25 degrees. Maybe a little small if you needed to carry a ton of stuff.
They don't have external pockets which might be nice for carrying fuel, bear mace and those sorts of things.Bottom Line: These are fantastic front bags for touring. They also make a solid small rear bag for shorter rides or commuter duty. They are tough, waterproof and easy to get on and off of the bike.
I used them riding a 2,300 miles on the Northern Tier and was very happy with them. They kept my gear dry and did everything I asked of them.

Strengths: tough material, waterproof, look nice.Weaknesses: still lookinBottom Line: great construction. aside from throwing your bike in the lake, they're waterproof like they say. the mounting system is nice, but i question longevity. they're my first panniers and have only made one trip (san diego to st. augustine), but they still look like new. they take a few minutes to set up initially (mark which is left and which is right), but they go on or off the bike in 2 seconds. they can be somewhat tricky to close (in a waterproof fashion) if they're stuffed. they fold over, so there's no set point they have to be in to be secure. also, if you are stuffing them, they need to be on the bike already, which can be a pain. the backing bows so much you can't get them clipped onto the rack. there are no pockets or dividers in the bags, so make sure you've got your own system for organzing things. small things like that make you appreciate what you're doing, so they're really minimal problems.
