Strengths:    + Practical, easy to read screen when it works
+ Lots of features

Weaknesses:    - Lots of glitches
- My unit losing GPS rout files constantly (newest software loaded and all)
- My unit not storing settings, have to constantly reconfigure screens and fields, seems to happen after after turning unit off or charging battery
- Unit will randomly shut down in a middle of a ride
- Unit will try to recaclutate a route even though you might have a specific rout loaded that you do not want to veer off from

Bottom Line:
Overall a very irritating and frustrating piece of bike equipment that for $100 might be acceptable, but for $800 for the bundle, definitely not worth it. Almost think this is expensive Chinese junk or at least very poorly designed and programmed software with all the glitches they have. My unit is going back to store, no use to me with all the problem with this one.

Strengths:    Many useful features, easy to use (after initial setup)

Weaknesses:    Expensive, dear, and not cheap

Bottom Line:
Mounting the unit is fairly easy but the actual setup can be quite lenghty. The unit is expensive (roughly $500-600) but it the expenses don't stop there.
I bought the unit for its mapping capabilities but it only comes with a very rudamentary map that is practically unusable. So you'll need to download
maps for your region (there's another $180). The unit doesn't have enough memory to hold these new maps so you'll need to get a Micro SD card to store
them on (there's another $20-40). Once you parted with enough cash the unit works fairly well.

I loved my Edge 800 until I broke it in a crash last week. Just wondering if the 1000 is worth the extra price or would I be better ... Read More »

Garmin edge 510, 810, or 1000

What is the major differences between the Garmin edge 510, 810, and 1000? I'm a little confused from the information that I have read on the computers. For instance, I read that the edge 1000 is the only one that can give navigation, yet I also read that you can download maps onto the 510 and 810. T ... Read More »

I have recently purchased a Garmin 810, and was wondering when you load a saved course and complete it, does it save it to your computer as an untitled ride and you have to manually edit it and save it under the course you just completed once you log onto Garmin connect. I have been constantly editi ... Read More »
