Strengths: Inexpensive. Dependable. Perform flawlessly. Pads last a long time.Weaknesses: Heavier than you need them to be.Bottom Line: These are good, functional brakes. It is due to high quality inexpensive products like these that cyclists can find sub 3 lb. aluminum frame bikes for under $1,000 dollars. After 5,000 miles of stopping my body, they are holding up well. Despite their relatively heavy weight, they are a fine entry level brakeset. They will offer many miles of safe and secure cycling. Despite that endorsement, the weight issue cries out for upgrading to at least Shimano 105's. When the pads are shot, move on up and get better performance and value for your dollar.

Strengths: Value, dual-pivot, solid.Weaknesses: Pads are old style (non-cartridge), but you get the $ break from 105. Slightly heavier than others.Bottom Line: Used on my training road bike as a no-nonsense, basic brake at a fair price. It is good to see trickle down technology in the dual-pivot design.
They stop as well as any other brake and the old style shoes aren't that tough to deal with.

Strengths: inexpensive. dual pivot design. good stopping power (how much brake power do you need?). All around fair performer. A great value.Weaknesses: a little heavy. stock brake pads are crappy. other than that, not too shabby.Bottom Line: If your looking for a dual pivot on the cheap...then buy these brakes.

Strengths: Great stopping power at a decent price. Works very well on regular road conditions, even when wet.Weaknesses: Tends to wear out quicker than comparable products, but this could be dependent on your riding style. Otherwise, it's as good as any entry-level brakeset could be.Bottom Line: These brakes are perhaps the best component in the entire Sora group, and they're great value for what they do. No complaints during my three month's use.
