Rapha's Merino Base Layer comes in multiple flavors. This is the Short Sleeve V-Neck version. The V-neck makes it appropriate, fashionable even, for use on its own or under civilian wear. Wear it alone to a summer party, wear it under a button-up shirt to more formal events, wear it under your jersey.Just like the other versions, all of its seams are flat-locked for comfort. Seams are positioned behind the shoulders to avoid rubbing from bag straps or bib straps. It's a close fitting garment and it's cut long at the back so it won't come untucked from you shorts/bibs/jeans/chinos. A care label is stitched to the outside seam for comfort. Rapha Merino base layers are machine washable. There's a soft pliability to Rapha's wool that makes it a joy to wear as layer #1 against the skin. Virtually every other high-end Merino we've tried has at least a hint of scratchiness to it. Not here. In addition, the wicking prowess is outstanding. We'll go on the record and say it's the best base layer we've ever worn -- in temps ranging from the 40's to the 80's. It's an equal pleasure on both ends of the spectrum.Super-fine New Zealand Merino wicks moisture vapor faster than any other fabric, and it's naturally anti-bacterial and odor-resistant. What's more, Merino is beautifully soft on the skin and itch free. When you combine the inherent properties of Merino with apparel production know-how, you end up with a base layer as irreplaceable to you as your saddle or your Sidi's. The Rapha Merino V-Neck Short Sleeve Base Layer is available in Black, Cream, and Pink. Sizes run from Small to XX-Large.
