As far as I can tell, Oakley is the only manufacturer that will grind curved prescription lenses. All the others (Bolle, Smith) have prescription inserts that fog and slip out of position and like that. The prescription accuracy is amazing, and these are the bomb for triathletes who might lose contacts in the water. Yeah, the frames get little stress cracks and they feel flimsy, but they hold up pretty well and the fact that they don't require prescription adapters is a great thing. Strengths:
Prescript-ability without adaptation. Lightweight and hold on great for running and rough riding. Weaknesses:
Extremely expensive with prescription ($189 for unpolarized iridium lenses), which makes losing them or dropping, running over, etc., a major consideration. I lost my last pair like an idiot because I went body surfing with my daughter without a Croakie. The lenses have to be ground at Oakley and it takes at least a month to get them back.
