    Price Paid:  $25.00 at Specialized

    Favorite Ride:
    rolling country roads

    Bike Setup:
    05 Specialized Allez Comp

    Summary:
I have to agree with several others on this issue. The padding is too far off the heel to really provide the claimed comfort. The only time the padding is very functional is when your in the drops. I'll be honest thats not me most of the time. On the hoods or the other parts of the bars, the glove does not match up well. They are comfortabel to wear just too bad Specialized BG team didn't do more research. If they happen to be reading "move the damn padding further to the center where it belongs"

    Strengths:
    Comfort, good looks.

    Weaknesses:
    wrong padding placement

    Similar Products Used:
    Performance gels, Trico's

Price Paid:  $24.00 at local dealer

    Favorite Ride:
    Pinellas

    Bike Setup:
    KHS Track

    Summary:
Like the other reviews, these felt great in the store and had read some good magazine reviews on them but out on the road they cause very fast numbness. After three rides, I am typing this with a little numbness still on the outside of my arms and pinky finger. Not good.
The padding is just strange. It does not stay in place and even when you force it into place it seems to put pressure in the wrong areas. Exactly what the "Body Geometry" is supposed to be avoiding.
Probably better built for straight bars.

    Strengths:
nice looking, nice fitting, terry section for sweat

    Weaknesses:
    they don't work

    Similar Products Used:
    trek gloves...various

    Price Paid:  $25.00 at LBS

    Summary:
My experience with the Specialized Comp gloves has been similar to several of the other reviewers. The gloves fit well and are well made, but on the road they do not deliver the comfort that they are claim to. The gloves fit very comfortable in the store, more so than some other gloves I tried on. The real test was of course on the road. The gloves stay nice and cool in warm weather, but the problem arises when you actually spend time on the brake hoods or in the drops. The "body geometry" pad is located on the outside of the palm and not towards the middle where I need it. Even with snug fitted gloves, the pad is in the wrong place. To take advantage of the pads you must rest your hand in awkward positions. Perhaps Specialized will either shift the pad towards the middle or make it larger in the next version. Also, a padded area betweeen the thumb and index finger would be nice for those long rides on the hoods.

    Strengths:
    Comfortable fit
    Price

    Weaknesses:
    Incorrect pad placement

Price Paid:  $25.00 at Bicycles Plus

    Bike Setup:
2001 Trek 2300, Rolf Vector Pro wheels

    Summary:
These gloves had by far the best fit of any in the LBS, so I bought them. On the first ride with them, my thumbs fell asleep. The bubble gel pad (as mentioned below) slides to the outside of my hand causing me to constantly adjust my hand position to get the padding to work. The gloves would work a lot better if there was some additional padding under the thumb.

    Strengths:
Durable, nice looking, great fit. Excellent when riding on the drops.

    Weaknesses:
Gel pad slides to the side and no padding under the thumb.

Price Paid:  $25.00 at Bike Rack, in Omaha,

    Favorite Ride:
    York River State Park

    Bike Setup:
    1992 Trek 1200 w/RX-100
    and 1999 Trek 930 w/ mix Deore/STX

    Summary:
I bought these gloves because I liked the Specialized Body Geometry Road and MTB seats. These gloves are padded in the WRONG place. There is NO padding where its needed (the inner heel of the hand). I needed the XL size and the fingers were too narrow (tight fit). There was also an annoying part of the glove that dug into the thumb/forefinger web area of my hand. I looked and looked, but could never find the "culprit".

    Strengths:
    They look good

    Weaknesses:
Poor fit, padding in wrong place and poor finishing in thumb/forefinger web area

    Similar Products Used:
Basic Trek gloves (1/2 the price and work/fit MUCH better!)
