Strengths:    Good fit (especially roll-sys is easy to loosen or tighten)
Roll Sys is difference from other tightening devices on helmets. It tightens all the way around not just in the back.
Low profile (doesn't have a mushroom look)
Sleek design - nice graphics
Good chin strap adjustments, snap lock and strap materials
Neat extras: aero shell & Roll Sys LED light (order separately), phone/MP3 earbud holder, & helmet bag.

Weaknesses:    Not the lightest helmet but not really noticeable to me.

Bottom Line:
Was using a Bell Ghisalo for many years but always felt it had a mushroom appearance...otherwise I liked the fit and function of the Bell. Wanted a certain color combo to match my new bike but really couldn't find another Bell that had the look I wanted. Started looking at pro teams on line to find a design I liked. Noticed Lazer helmets on Lotto Belisol and liked the low profile looks. The Z1 and Helium were out of my price range. Noticed the Genesis on their site and read several reviews mainly positive and I found the ideal color combo. Found a good price on line and bought one. Not disappointed in style, appearance, fit or function. Very nice helmet and the clear aero shell and LED light are neat extras you can add on. Apparently it's an older design for Lazer but still very nice and up-to-date style. It also has a carry bag and a rubber earpiece holder around one chin strap for a phone or MP3 player. Lots of neat extras.

Who should get it? Anyone who wants a quality helmet but doesn't want to spend top end dollars. Another site felt this helmet was superior to the Helium because of price and not that much difference in form or function. It weighs a little more than the Helium but other than that I couldn't see much difference.

Lazer Genesis sizing

The LBS carries Lazer helmets but doesn't stock the Genesis that I want. He's going to order it for me but... the small goes up to 57cm, the large starts at 58cm. My head is just slightly over 57cm. Anybody wearing this helmet that can help me with whether I should go small or large? Thanks.Read More »

Lazer Genesis Users and sizing

Anyone out there use one of these helmets. And what size do you use. I am really looking forward to a change from the usual suspects (Bell, Giro, Specialized) all great products but just want a change. The aforementioned helmets all supply in 3 sizes (S,M,L). However the European type lids often ... Read More »

Ridgeback Flight T3 vs. Genesis Day 01

Indecision 2008! This is worse than Obama vs. Clinton!:D These 2 bikes are very similar (especially as they come from the same manufacturer). They have identical geometries, but come with slightly different component setups. My riding is city riding/commuting, no big hills, the occasional s ... Read More »
