Product Description

Versatility, they name is the Gore Bike Wear Men?s ALP-X Zip-Off Jacket. Warm and water- and wind-resistant for cold, wet days, breathable enough for high-intensity rides, and with zip-off sleeves for when it warms up. ... Yep, that just about covers the bases. The jacket's WindStopper Active Shell efficiently combines a shell?s ability to block cold, penetrating wind with the softness and breathability of a fleece, and raglan long sleeves convert the Alp-X into a vest for core protection in changeable weather.Ergonomically-shaped high collar keeps the wind out when you're bent over the barsZip Napoleon pocket and two-part back pocket with lateral zippers keep your goodies safeVentilation slips with zips at the back of the sleeves allow for ventilation if it's not yet warm enough to remove the sleevesReflective hits on the front, back, and sleeves make you more visible to half-wit motorists

Strengths:    Blocks wind
Lightweight
Easy zip off ams
Tailored fit with long arms
So comfortably you forget you have it on

Weaknesses:    Not entirely waterproof (but not advertised to be, either)

Bottom Line:
Keeps the wind off but breaths very well, much better than EVent or other supposedly breathable fabrics
The perfect combination of windproof and breathable, vary base layers for appropriate warmth, I put a team vest over the top to fly the team colors.
