Price Paid:  $170.00 at LBS Birmingham, AL

Favorite Ride:
country roads

Bike Setup:
'06 Fuji Team RC Dura Ace

Summary:
Being from the Deep South, I just hate cold weather because it means no cycling. I finally bit the bullet and took the advice of a great LBS guy who really sold me. Today I rode in 40 degree weather w/15 mph wind and even int he teeth of the wind never gor cold. I had a "pro zero" base layer, short sleeve jersey and arm warmers uner this jacket...never got cold! What a find!!

Strengths:
non-restricting, not heavy, blocks wind completely, very cool red/black design

Weaknesses:
A bit pricy, but worth the $$

Similar Products Used:
LG wind jacket

Price Paid:  $50.00 at Nashbar

Favorite Ride:
Crisp

Summary:
Great wind-stopping ability, keeps me nice and toasty on rides down into the 40s. Haven't had a chance to try it out colder than that, although I suspect that I'd need a base layer to go much colder. The inside is nice and soft, and I've been using it without anything underneath. It used to be marketed as a jersey, now as a jacket. Go figure.

The zips are great-- one zip on the front of the pit for ventilation, undoing the second zip on the back of the arm completely detaches the sleeve.

I got a model from a season or two ago from Nashbar, and it only has one not-so-large back pocket. I saw the new ones at the LBS and it looks like they've remedied that.

Very versatile, AMAZING jacket for the price I paid. Not so sure about retail, though.

Strengths:
WindStopper fabric
Close fit
Warm

Weaknesses:
Pocket
MSRP

Similar Products Used:
Multiple long-sleeve jerseys from Garneau, Izumi, etc.

Price Paid:  $119.00 at REI

Favorite Ride:
the next one

Bike Setup:
Trek 1500, shimano 105, mostly stock

Summary:
Initially, i went looking for a warm vest to keep the chest warm, and a mid-weight rain jacket. I came across this beauty on a clearance rack and it's been the best thing ever. I rode it through rain on a dirty main road, and water and even the dirt just dusted right off. Just the right balance of warm and wicking. I went with the Bright Yellow to enhance visibility and I must say... it's bright!

Strengths:
Perfect spring jacket/vest. fashionable enough to wear as a jacket with out the bicycle, great water shedding performance, and keeps just enough heat in

Weaknesses:
no pockets in front at all.. lame weakness, but its the only one.

Similar Products Used:
performance jacket, pearl izumi winter jerseys
