Strengths: great carbon sole. same carbon sole as the legendary shimano R200 (needed to replace mine, as they were over 10 years old). size 44 fits true-to-size, and they feel alot like the carnac diagonales i used to ride, but they're not as bulky. very stiff sole!Weaknesses: the stupid z-strap, laces and internal tongue. i had a local cobbler cut out the tongue, remove the z-strap, convert the upper-strap to function "normally", and dispensed with the laces. only cost a few bucks and the shoes are great now!
ps. i can email pics of the conversion if anyone is interested.Bottom Line: great shoe - except for the stupid z-strap!

Strengths: RRRRRRRRRRRIGID sole, at last for a decent price!Weaknesses: Velcro looks a bit cheap but this is not a big concern, I can repair them in the future.Bottom Line: This is a wonderfull shoe in term of value. At least for the price that I paid. I race on the track and do sprints. I'm telling you, if you thighten that sole to hte max, it will leave your feet numb after half an hour. That is good for the track. The laces rmains tight ocne attached and the velcro and flap help keep the laces aways from chainring. The heel section aslo provide godd support, as it keeps the heel down in the bottom. This is not a deluxe shoe like The Sidi or Carnac but if you need rigidity at a good price, well...

Strengths: Carbon sole, carbon sole, carbon sole!!!!!!!!!! secure fastening, small sizes are probably going for minimal $$'s now.Weaknesses: Colour, mtb branding, no good for triathletes as fastening is time-consuming.Bottom Line: Once you convert to carbon soles you won't go back, i was converted by my original Shimano's but the heel counter fell
off after about 3 weeks & i wore through the carbon eventually. Second shoes were Lake carbon , soles were OK but the velcro strap were messy. These Korean Axo shoes are great, pity they're not made anymore & they weren't made in some more vibrant colour for us roadies.
Road shoes are a funny business who would have thought twenty years ago that now a company like Sidi would be world leader instead of say Duegi, just goes to show with a big $$'s backing any brand can be a world leader & better shoes are left floundering to be sold at some discount store at 1/4 price!!

Strengths: stiffness of sole, fitWeaknesses: noneBottom Line: Incredible value! Fit of Carnac at a fraction of the price.
Power to spare from the carbon fiber sole. Sole cannot be bent by human hands (or legs). Did 200 mile ride at 17/hr and forgot I had them on. Awesome.
