Price Paid:  $200.00 at LBS

Favorite Ride:
St. Francisville

Bike Setup:
Litespeed Classic, Ultegra, Roval Pave wheels.

Summary:
I bought these many year ago as back-up to my even older, beloved Carnac LeMond shoes. In comparing the two, the LeMonds are superior to the Legends in that they are a little lighter, the soles are much stiffer especially in torsion, and obviously built better with superior materials. To correct the less-stiff soles of the Legends I now have to use 4 cleat shims stacked on the outboard side of my Look Delta cleats. Other wise, there is obvious drooping of my feet to the outside as I pedal on the downstroke. I will keep using the LeMonds until they fall off my feet then buy D2 shoes. May make the Legends into cycle art.

Strengths:
Nice looking, comfy.

Weaknesses:
Weigh a ton, lower quality materials than the Carnac LeMond.

Similar Products Used:
Some old no-name things from the 90s.

Price Paid:  $200.00 at local shop

Favorite Ride:
local hills

Summary:
Shoe fits fine (although not as tight as sidi genius) and is very comfortable (has carpeting inside) but is heavy, performance is low (heavy overall, not stiff sole).
This shoe detracted from my riding. Just lifting it with hands or feet requires effort.

Strengths:
Design and build quality looks flashy- like a bmw. Flashy words- "UCS sole,"etc. Works with multiple pedals with adapters), excellent with time-
no adapter necessary

Weaknesses:
High price. VERY HEAVY- like a brick- 1-2 pounds each compared to any shoe i've tried, even time. Sole NOT stiffer than average, nothing special, not worth the price.

Similar Products Used:
Time shoes- low and high end.

Strengths:
Comfort. Wide toe box. High Quality construction. Durable. Goood looking and vents very well.

Price Paid:  $20.00 at Soft Spokin

Favorite Ride:
East Central Alabama

Bike Setup:
10 yr old Trek 5500

Summary:
An excellent shoe. I have used these for about six years now and they only show minimal wear. I also wear Diadora shoes well. I do not wear Addidas nor Nikes very well. Mostly I fit in a curved last shoe best. The Carnac Legend also allows for me to use a small orthotic inside. The strap and lace system may be low tech, but it can't be beat for comfort and snugness. I use Look cleats. Very happy with this shoe and hope I can find another pair one day when these wear out! They are expensive, but worth every penny.

Strengths:
Fit.

Weaknesses:
None.
