at Colorado Cyclist Favorite Ride: Fast and long Bike Setup: Trek 5500 Summary: These are the best good looking shoes i've ever seen, even better than the Sidi Ergo 1. I also like the stifness, for me these shoes have the best combination of stifness and comfort. I have also used the Matrix and are very similar except that the Matrix are a bit heavier also we have to consider the "looking" factor, Silex are a lot better looking. They are stiff but do also deliver a very small amount of flex, just enough to give you an unforgetabble & comfortable ride. Very well ventiladed, nice room in the toes area and have a good retention system to fit snuggly. I've always used Sidi, the Energy and Ergo were part of my wardrobe and have also tried the Shimano Carbon Fiber SH-R215 and I can tell you from my personal point of view Carnac is the way to go. With 3 months of use I can't tell about durability, so I will post a review later. They are expensive but you can always find good deals. Carnac shoes look tough like Tonkas, they are heavy compared with Sidi's or Shimanos CF with soles but for me these are the best. Strengths: Look good & tough, ventilated, good fit and retention, carbon fiber inserts, compatibility with most cleats, repleaceble parts, they deliver a very good feeling of transfer power. Weaknesses: Price, weight can be a withdraw but bearly noticeable on the bike. Similar Products Used: Carnac Matrix
