Uppers consist of an ultra-light, breathable microfibre fabric. The heel and tip of the foot are asymmetrical, moulded, single pieces to ensure maximum support for the foot when pedaling. They also ensure maximum protection and comfort in the centre, front area of the foot as they are non-deformable type. A double strap fastening combined with the new magnetic fastening system ensures that the foot perfectly fits the shoe. A new and light Magnetic Closure System (MCS) is resistant to most external aggressions - including water - and is very easy to use. The rack allows you to adjust the fastening to obtain the perfect amount of compression.
My first ride on those shoes and perfect....comfort and fit...the magnetic closures take a while to get used to but they hold the foot snug.No problem with sizing....i'm a size 12/45 and they true to size.I've been wearing CARNAC since 1993 and they are my favourite shoes.I have two pairs of the attraction and two of the helios. The plastic straps can be cut for a better fit but ride the shoe first before any cutting is to be done.
Strengths: Beautiful shoe! Finish is gorgeos. Stiff as a board.
Weaknesses: Oversized compared to other Carnac shoes. A little heavy for the price. Much heralded magnetic strap system is too short to properly attach themselves on a normal size foot.
First and compared to two other pair of Carnac bike shoes, these are a full size larger. 42.5 no longer means 42.5. You have to wonder about a company that can't control it's quality and sizing between models of shoes.
Worse yet? Even though my feet are 1/2 size too small for these "42.5" shoes, the plastic straps that magnectically attach to the side pulls aren't long enough to fit. I've never had a problem even remotely the same as this with any shoes as long as I've been alive. And that's only for 58 years.
Mine has go to be the Mannekin Pis sculpture in Brussels/Bruxelles.
After wandering around and getting lost we finally stumbled onto it--it is about 18" high and not that well done.
