Price Paid:  $230.00 at LBS

Favorite Ride:
Wolf Creek

Bike Setup:
not relevant, but it's a Bianchi

Summary:
The uppers of the shoes are a unique material that has a shiny, plastic appearance. Despite the synthetic look one of the most notable features is the incredible ventilation; they are very cool in the summer. Moreover, they are fairly stiff when new, but do break in over a few weeks to become increasingly comfortable. The soles are not the stiffest I've seen, but are quite stiff. The soles are also quite thin compared to other popular carbon sole shoes. The biggest problem with the soles is a lack of texture around the cleat area. Because the sole is so smooth cleats will want to slip. My shoes came with some adhesive sandpaper; use it. The closure system works well, but the top strap can cut into the tendons on the top foot due to a very short tongue. It's not always a problem, but it can be very uncomfortable depending on how the shoe fits your foot. Overall the shoes are very nice. The material maintains its color and cleans nicely. The soles are thin and sufficiently stiff.

Strengths:
great looks, incredible light weight, and breezy ventilation

Weaknesses:
short tongue can be uncomfortable, no texture around cleat area, and pricey relative to other products
