at eBay Favorite Ride: bugsy's Bike Setup: Fuji Team/Ultegra Summary: Cheap (discontinued) carbon soled shoe that's very stiff with excellent power transfer. Snug fit for a medium width foot, but not too tight. Very flat in the toe box (top to bottom), which allows less wiggle room. Good closure system (ratchet mech. on the Altea II plus). Looks good. Strengths: price, stiffness, ratchet, looks, fits true to size. Weaknesses: very slippery on pavement, could use a rubber bumper on the heel for grip and to reduce wear. Similar Products Used: Specialized Sport, Pro

at Revolution Cycle Bike Setup: 2005 Lemond Tourmalet w/Reynolds DV46T ULs, Selle SMP Stratos saddle Summary: A well constructed shoe at a bargain price. Solid carbon sole. I have a narrow foot, but found these to be too narrow. Strengths: Stiff, adequate ventilation. Cheap. Weaknesses: Far too narrow. Similar Products Used: Northwave Aerlite 3

at Trek Favorite Ride: Levi Loop Bike Setup: 2007 Trek Madone 5.2 SL
Crank Brothers Quattros Summary: Good shoe. One of the few I was able to find in a very large size (49) at a decent price. Simple closure system, holds my heels in well, ventilated nicely too. Very stiff, great power transfer Strengths: Fit good, even with a wide foot (sized up one euro size for that)
Easy straps, so easy a chimp could do it :p
Good heel cupping
Ventilation

2 and 3 bolt compatible Weaknesses: Carbon sole scuffs up easily, but that happens with any shoe. Similar Products Used: Specialized Sport MTB

at probike okc Favorite Ride: Terryall road east of co.springs Bike Setup: trek madone 5.2 with DA/ultegra and look keo pedals. Summary: I bought these when I bought my new bike. I had been using specialized body geometry shoes for about 4 years. The difference is night and day. Now I feel like I'm pushing down on a platform not just a small pedal. These shoe are freakin' Stiff!! The only downside is that the insoles in these shoes really don't match the shape of my feet very well. (I'll be getting some aftermarket insoles) Strengths: Very stiff and light... good price right now because nike is getting out of cycling. Weaknesses: These are very hard to walk in (if thats your thing) Also not the best insole shape. Similar Products Used: specialzed body geometry, various shimano models.
