Strengths: Stiff
Buckle system and velcro closures are comfortable, adjustable, and don't loosen during races
Weaknesses: - Cost (S-works shoes more durable for less money)
- Lack of durability of heel retention system (namely fabric wearing out in heel cup region exposing your heel to the hard under-surface of the shoe)
- Lack of customer service from SidiBottom Line: This is a nice stiff shoe that is very comfortable - until the fabric in the heel cup region starts wearing out and rubbing your heels wrong. I have an older pair of Genius 5's that have been going strong for over 6 years so I decided to upgrade to the 6.6's. The 6.6's are definitely more stiff and a better race shoe, but unfortunately, don't last as long. I've been told by Sidi that the upper end shoes with the "heel retention system" wear out quicker in the heel region because they are more narrow. I would hope that Sidi would figure something out that would allow these shoes to last longer than 1 racing season. Sidi was not able to warranty them since I couldn't remember which online dealer I had bought them from and I was told to "not wear rough socks"..... lame
