at Local shop Favorite Ride: Lots of h Bike Setup: Bianchi M series with Campag Summary: Show fits fine bit the sole material is not tough enough for Look pedals. The plastic on the sole is pulled out when you tighten up the bolts. It is a shame because the shoe is comftable Strengths: comfort Weaknesses: Sole bends when you tighten up the bolts on look pedals Similar Products Used: Shimano

at Local Bike Store Bike Setup: Giant TCR2, Bebop pedals Summary: Wide toe box and good fitting shoes for the price. My previous shoes were too narrow causing numbness, the new shoes are much more comfortable, but I still get some slight numbness after long rides. My biggest gripe is the heel cup which just doesn't grip my heel very well allowing the shoe to feel a bit unsecure during the up-stroke. The dual straps are adequate but a third strap would probably improve on the comfort and feel. The heel pad feels very secure while walking but isn't replaceable. Still, a good value for the price. Strengths: Wide toe box, stiff sole, arch support, price Weaknesses: Heel cup, an additional strap could improve fit Similar Products Used: Alpinestar road shoes

at The Great Bicycle Company Favorite Ride: Miccosukee Loop Bike Setup: Cannondale R1K Summary: The Specialized '01 Comps fit extremely well, are lightweight, have a stiff sole, and look great. The orthotic insole provides excellent support and minimizes foot numbness. I considered Sidis or Carnacs but could not justify their cost. I enthusiastically recommend these shoes as I believe they are a pleasure to wear. Strengths: *Quality Construction *Orthotic Insole *Wide toe box *Perfect fit *Great looking Weaknesses: *Silver finish scuffs too easily Similar Products Used: Alpinestars

at Specialized.com Favorite Ride: Any route along Lake Ontario Bike Setup: Specialized Allez A1 Sport, Shimano 105, Look pedals, Profile Designs AirStryke 2000 aerobars Summary: This is a very comfortable shoe with good support and a very stiff sole for good power transfer to the pedals. The Specialized have plenty of width- may be a good choice if your feet run on the wide side (like mine do). The two velcro straps are adequate and I haven't had any problems with loosening during rides. The heal pad is a firm foam which is very comfortable when you have to walk in them. The Body Geometry feature in the arches feel a little wierd when you first put the shoes on, but provides good support when on the bike. Overall a very good product. Strengths: -well built -good ventilation on warm days -very comfortable -Body Geometry -very stiff sole Weaknesses: ventilation almost too good on very cool rides- need toe covers.
