Price Paid:  $0.00 at Bicyclehub

Favorite Ride:
Anything over 1 hour

Bike Setup:
Custom Calfee Tetra, Ultegra Groupo, Speed Dream Wheels, with FSA Compact Crank.

Summary:
I own at least 6 pair of these shorts and no matter which style they all suffer from the same problem, the seam that mates the chamois to the short separates within a month of wear.

Strengths:
I like the chamois and the compression material in the leg of the short.

Weaknesses:
The way the chamois is join to the shorts need drastic revamping.

Similar Products Used:
deMarchi, Campy, Nalini and Voler.

Price Paid:  $75.00 at Sierra Trading Post

Favorite Ride:
the one I'm on

Bike Setup:
2003 Trek 2300 63cm, custom-painted, Ultegra 9spd, DA 180mm cranks, Look PP-296 pedals, Easton Circuit wheels

Summary:
These are the Tenax Laser bibs. After having Giordana Mercury and Giordana Silverline C-4 shorts which I loved, I bought these on sale. What a mistake. The edges of the chamois pad are not flat against the shorts, and actually leave whiplash-style cuts in my posterior on any ride 40 miles or more. Too bad, as they fit great; I bought two pairs, and wasted my money. Giordana, bring back the Silverline CP-4 bib shorts you discontinued!

Strengths:
Comfortable bib straps and lycra fit well. Stylish looking

Weaknesses:
Edges on chamois not flat to the shorts, causing a ridge which can cut you up (unless maybe you have a pro racer's butt). This is a deal-breaker.

Giordana Silverline CP-4, Giordana Mercury, Performance Century, Hind

Price Paid:  $100.00 at Sunrise Cyclery

Favorite Ride:
Mt Weather VA

Bike Setup:
Scott Alu, Ultegra, Cane Creek wheels

Summary:
This review is for 07 Tenax shorts. Bought these to replace PI Ultrasensors that didn't fit any more because I lost too much weight. Very, very comfortable and very nice "stretchy" fabric. Wic wonderfully. Chamois very nice. Supremely comfortable. Problem is poor longevity. The reflective logos came off after 2 rides. No big deal. But after only 5 months and about 2500 miles the fabric on the front of the crotch area has thinned so much that one can see my man-parts...a bit problematic. Interestingly this is an area of the shorts that doesn't even rub on anything. I do wash them after every ride (gently, cold) but only air dry.

Strengths:
Supremely comfortable.

Weaknesses:
Pretty expensive for a short that didn't even last a season. I'll go back to PI.

Similar Products Used:
PI ultrasensor

Summary:
The Giordana Tenex Bibs are by far the best I've used. I log mega training miles a year and have used LG, Sugoi, Castelli, Santini, Assos and others. Several hours in the saddle no issues at all. Chamois is 5 star. Fit and finish is great. The small radio pocket is a bonus. You can't go wrong.

Weaknesses:
None

Price Paid:  $99.00 at bicyclinghub.com

Favorite Ride:
Mt. Baker

Bike Setup:
Several, used with Flite, SLR and Aliante saddles.

Summary:
This review is for the 2005 Giordana Tenax bib shorts, with the Stratus OF chamois.

These are great shorts, the power lycra is supportive and comfortable and the anatomic cut and bib length is perfect. The Stratus OF chamois provides excellent padding without being excessively thick. I have had zero issues with the chamois. I'm giving them a provisional 5, but it is too early to tell about durability. I have had other Giordana shorts that seemed to age prematurely.

Strengths:
Comfortable in all aspects, pocket for a race radio or iPod is a nice touch even if 99% of people never use it.

Weaknesses:
None, but my one man jury is still out regarding durability. Also the chamois is very slow drying.

Similar Products Used:
Louis Garneau, Sugoi, other Giordana, Santini
