Strengths: The shorts are made with good quality
except the new pad.Weaknesses: PRT padBottom Line: The new pad is terrible I too want the old PRT pad.
This new pad seems to rub in the wrong places and makes riding a dread.

Strengths: Fit, style and lycra material is top rate.
Legendary durability.Weaknesses: PRT pad is a disaster for booty comfort. I'll have to scour the bike shops for the older style Pearl Izumi shorts, or find another brand.Bottom Line: Pearl Izumi use to be the only short I would wear, but they switched to the crappiest pad I've had the displeasure of using the PRT torture device. What a shame that they changed a nearly perfect product into this travesty. Gauranteed, that on long rides the edges of the PRT pad and/or the stiching is going to rub your cheeks raw. I guess their marketing people didn't learn anything from the "New Coke" debacle.

Strengths: You can machine wash them to death.Weaknesses: Padding is questionable unless you have alot of fat on your butt.Bottom Line: I once heard a long time bike shop owner state that pearl izumi bike shorts were the best ever.I bought pair and did not think they were a big deal.Comparing them to my old giordanas the fit was less than glovelike and my butt got sore after a couple of hours of riding
