Strengths: Slim chamois that is more comfortable than even my Nike Champs Elysees $150 shorts with "real" leather type chamois made of three materials. I routinely ride 4 hours or more and these shorts are the best I've found in 5 plus years. Also like Voler's new top of the line 3D type chamois.Weaknesses: On first impression/taking them out of the box it seemed as though the chamois was perhaps inflexible but in retrospect that may be because the weight of the fabric didn't pull it to conform to the fabric's shape. In any case, the shorts are VERY comfortable, noticeably more so than any other I've tried (by a slim, but noticeable margin). They simply are not their on a ride, the seat is comfortable, the shorts are not causing friction (use Udderly Smooth chamois cream, $5/tub).
As with any foam, I expect this will deteriorate before the lycra wears out, oh well. (2-3 years of year-round riding in mix with 12 other shorts).Bottom Line: Review is for the 4D chamois (I have the PRO short) because the short is not currently listed for review. I got mine for $100 on slight closeout discount.
Favorite Ride: the one I'm on: Blue AC1, 3 caad 9 (2 cx bikes), one caad 8, one 1.2 trek, epic f/s
Similar Products Used: Assos F1 Uno. (returned due to cost for product similar to Pearl for 33% less), plus was sent bibs when requested short.
Cannondale foam.
Nike Discovery Champs Elysees. (excellent)
Voler (3D type foam) (very good)
cheap stuff
Squadra version of Castelli (very good)
Pearl PRO 4D (excellent plus, good value)
Bike Setup: I ride on a saddle, that's all that matters in this review, right? haha

Strengths: Fit, and wicking of the fabricWeaknesses: durabilityBottom Line: These are the best for the buck if you want to be comfortable. I agree the duration is not like iron, but hey they are not designed for that. How much did you pay for your ride??

Strengths: Comfort
DurabilityWeaknesses: Nylon has chaffed unusually, has not happened with othersBottom Line: I have many pairs, and make sure one is always ready for training inside or out.
Overall they are outstanding for two main reasons; 1. Durability; The chamois holds up for an incredible amount of time without losing any of its padding. 2. The Chamois; better by a magin than Assos F13 or Sugoi. Better padding and comfort for long rides.

Strengths: chamois confortable. Good fit.Weaknesses: The short had to be changed two times by Pearl Izumi. Good service but the problems repeats: frayed elastic, broken sew. For the price paid, this short is too "fragile" and the don't last very long time(less than one season).Maybe the microsensor tissue had to be review. And note that these short had only been handwashed et hand dry.Bottom Line: Very confortable on long ride. The fit is perfect.I use it since two years now. But this short had to be changed two times by the manufacturer. But they have a big problem of durability.

Strengths: Comfortable and keeps you dry on long rides.Weaknesses: noneBottom Line: These shorts are some of the most comfortable shorts I have tried. The pad provides excellent cushioning and prevents numbness and soreness even after riding all day long. The fabric is thin, cool, wicks sweat well and strong. These shorts fit tighter than most I have tried so you might want to try them on before purchasing. I have a 32" waist and the size medium fits perfect.
