Strengths: Light, firm, supportive, dial it in and forget about it comfort, easy to mount.Weaknesses: Durability perhaps - time will tell.Bottom Line: I picked this up of off Ebay for cheap. I prefer the narrow, low profile, firm, sparsely padded type of saddles. If you like ample padding or have wide sit bones, this may not be the saddle for you. I replaced a 4ZA saddle that came on my Ridley after 7000 miles. For the price it was a pretty risk free trial. The Aspide was even a bit firmer than the 4ZA and took a couple of 2 hour+ rides to get completely accustomed to it. I have about 700 miles on it now and never really think about my saddle, which is as it should be. Nothing hurts or numbs out more than on any other saddle after a few hours on it. I was developing a saddle sore from the worn out 4ZA. It has completely disappeared. I wonder about the durability of the covering. Other saddles of this type that I have used tend to wear out the covering due to thigh rub after a year or so. We'll see.

Strengths: Light weightWeaknesses: Overboard on the stiffness; uncompliant; too firm padding; sits in the parts bin instead of on my bike.Bottom Line: More so than with any other component, saddle "fit" and function (especially fit)are almost wholly unique to each rider. So, honestly, I'm not sure that reviewing any saddle is worth much. Having said that, I have been riding pretty hardcore for about 25 years and have sat on just about every brand/model of saddle out there. Of course, I have had favorites--most notably San Marco's Era and Italia's Flite. I got a coupon deal on the ASPIDE, judging weight savings to be all-important. I knew there would be a break-in period, so I gave it the obligatory 2-three weeks @ 2-300k per week. Nothing but discomfort and perpetual ass-dancing. Four weeks and I was done. Way too little padding; way too much stiffness. For me, 20 more grams for a more compliant saddle (a new Era for only $69)was more than offset by being able (and happy) to keep riding those extra few kilometers.

Strengths: -comfort
-support
-price
-weightWeaknesses: -break in time
-fabric durability
Bottom Line: I've had this saddle for nearly 2 years now and a am continually surprised by it's comfort for such a cheap and minimalist saddle. I weigh over 200lb @6ft and the roads i cycle are particularlly rough in places but that has never been an issue with this saddle. Even on long rides up to 7 hours i have not had to think about this saddle, it just gets the job done and i just get on with my cycle. Recently i have been trying to replace this saddle as the fabric is beginning to wear down but i have found it very difficult! i have tried a few saddles, some very expensive, but i cannot find the same support or level of comfort in any so far. it just fits!
takes a few rides to break it in ~500km but after that, it's bliss

Strengths: light, firm, good ergonomicsWeaknesses: creaks like a bugger as soon as it's broken in!Bottom Line: Takes a few rides to break in then it's reasonably comfy although not like the old Rolls days. Creaks like a bugger three months down the line, so I'm gonna swap in out for a fizik

Strengths: light, great looking and comfortableWeaknesses: needs to be broken in, but most do...Bottom Line: I have the Aspide on my road bike and yes, I agree it does take some getting used to. If you want a something that feels great right out of the box this isn't for you, it needs to be broken in. Be patient...
