Bike Setup: Trek Portland, Ultegra, Chris King hubs, Mavic open pro
Summary: It's been a great saddle. Been riding on it daily for 5 years. Finally broke the seat rail. The saddle takes some getting used to. You don't just install and go out and ride a century with it. Once you get used to it. It's a very comfortable saddle.
Strengths: Light
Weaknesses: price

Bike Setup: Cervelo R3 dura ace
Giant TCR sram red
Summary: Ouch!!!
In my opinion, the most painful saddle I've ever used. The inside of my ass bones hurt like hell after a 50 mile ride. I had to take a vicodin that evening. They said I would get used to it. I didn't. Two weeks later I still hurt. The only nice thing was there was no numbness and it maintains great bloodflow to your perenial region. Plus, the saddle could have been much nicer finished.
Specialized--let's not throw the baby out with the bath water here.
Strengths: Does what they claim--no numbness and good bloodflow but not worth the pain.
Weaknesses: My ass bones hurt like hell for weeks to come. This saddle was pure torture for me. What's with the cheesy plasitc end finish pieces?

Bike Setup: 2010 Specialized Tarmac Expert
All Ultegra 6700
Toupe
Mavic Kyserium Equipe
Vittoria open corsa
Summary: Test rode the Toupe on a 110 miler today. For the first time in quite a while the butt was happy! The white saddle looks good on the white bike too! Think I'll keep this one. So I've concluded that you just can't know which saddle will work for you until ya try it. Recomendations don't mean much.
Strengths: Comfortable, looks good and light.
Weaknesses: None so far, we'll see how long it lasts.

Summary: This is apparently a torture device resurrected from some medieval tomb, and spruced up with a modern looking saddle cover and graphics. Result - looks really cool, but very painful to use. I did use the Specialized sizing system at the bike shop to determine the "correct" size. I had this on my bike for about 3 rides before I couldn't stand it any longer. Actually, I made that decision after the first ride, but the next 2 rides were to give the saddle the benefit of the doubt. Switched back to my carbon-railed Fizik Aliante, and it's like being in a La-Z-Boy recliner...ahhhhh. I don't know how the Toupe has become so popular - I suspect a combination of effective marketing and rider ign'ance.
Strengths: Looks really cool. Lightweight.
Weaknesses: Painful!

Summary: I used this saddle for 500 miles, about one month, and though it completely eliminated any numbness I had with previous saddles, its shape resulted in a new kind of pain (for me) directly in my butt bone area. I was told to give it time, that this saddle isn't for some time riders, so I did, and though it got minimally better, the pain eventually undermined the enjoyment of the ride. I returned it, no problem there.
Strengths: Eliminated numbness. Light weight.
Weaknesses: Flat top may be the cause of uncorrectable pain in the sit bone area.
