at Used on craigslist, Favorite Ride: work commute Bike Setup: 1985 Schwinn Columbus Tenax Super Sport w/Tiagra 9 speed conversion, Alex 500 rims, Scott Pro dual pivot brakes, Continental Ultra gatorskins. Summary: After riding the MS150 on a stock style BG Specialized, I was numb for a month!! I started looking around for an alternative, and heard people raving about the Terry Fly. I couldn't afford the $149 price, so I was bummed out. Within a week one popped up on CL for $60 so I jumped on it. I threw it on my 1985 Schwinn Super Sport, and it was a revelation. I never knew a saddle could be comfortable!! I understand not every saddle works for everyone, which is shown in the reviews here. Let me tell you, it worked for me!! I'm 215 and dropping, and this saddle is like riding on a cloud! I'm not super crazy about the leopard like finish, but just great about everything else looks great. Strengths: fairly light for a cushy saddle. Comfortable as a saddle can get, if it's shaped right for you. Ti rails are light and improve the ride of your bike somewhat. Weaknesses: Slightly odd finish, and can be slightly off on the rail to sitbone area as noted. The bee? and "Buzz Off" emboroidery I can do without. Can be fixed with a sharpie though.:-) Similar Products Used: Specialized BG. Turbo. San Marco Rolls, etc etc...

$0.00 Bike Setup: Fuji Professional converted to city bike, with suspension fork, flat handlebar, triple crankset, etc. Summary: Along with the Fly Gel, the most comfortable high-performance saddle I've found. But I agree with the reviewer who noted that the saddle sits unevenly on the rails, leading to uneven sit bones. I own six, and they all have this problem. I've adapted by putting shims in all my seatpost clamps. Strengths: Balance of comfort and high performance. Weaknesses: Uneven on sit bones. Similar Products Used: Avocet, Brooks, mostly.

at LBS Bike Setup: Madone 5.2 SL Summary: Follow-up review.... First of all I like the saddle and would like to stick with it; however, there are some manufacturing issues that Terry needs to address. After having significant lower back pain and left hamstring pain, I sought out a 3-D bike fit only to discover that the Fly Ti saddle that I'd been riding for over a year (6,000+ mi) was not level across the sit bones! (Note, this un level saddle had caused me to start seeing a chiropractor b/c my back hurt so much...) Fortunately, I had brand new Fly Ti (verified as level) which I installed on my Madone. Unfortunately, the leather on the left side of this second saddle came unglued in less than two months (1,000mi). The LBS got Terry to replace it....guess what? The new Fly Ti Terry sent to the LBS was not level across the sit bones! Make sure it is level when you buy it.... Strengths: It's comfortable for me. Weaknesses: Quality control issues from the Factory…Two of the three saddles were significantly Un-level across the sit bones. On the third saddle the leather on the left side came unglued after 1,000 mi. 5 stars is you get a good one from the factory...otherwise, it's a 1 star saddle.

Terry Fly saddle
Look Keo sprints Summary: I had a Terry Liberator on a couple of steel Bianchis many years ago. I could ride all day every day without ever thinking about the saddle. In the past few years, I have not been comfortable on rides over 30 miles. Not so much chafing, but just having my sit bones killing me. I have had a couple of bikes, and many saddles. I have been fit and re fit. Most recently, my LBS told me to get the Specialized Toupe. They raved about it as if it were the only saddle on the planet that was comfortable. Well, maybe it is, for someone else. After 1,000 miles, I was not feeling it. Or should I say I was feeling it...right in the tailbone. I remembered the Terry saddle before, and decided to try the Fly Ti. Here is how it worked for me. Buy and install Terry Fly. Go ride, and keep riding. I rode 45 the fisrt time out, and was like riding on air. They say everyone is different with saddles, and this one is for me. Will never consider another saddle again. I got so caught up in the weight game, I was miserable on long rides.
Strengths: Well made. Very comfortable. Noticed the comfort level right away. Weaknesses: A little heavy compared to other saddles. Similar Products Used: Selle Italia, Specialized Toupe, Forte, Fitzik.

at Performance Cary, NC Bike Setup: 2004 Giant OCR1 Summary: I upgraded from the stock Giant OCR1 saddle after suffering from a lot of discomfort. This was the saddle recommended by the salesperson. After a long ride where I was numb more times than not I have finally written this saddle off. The rides I do are basically between 30-40 miles so I'm not doing super long distance rides. After reading the reviews I purchased a Koobi and enjoyed a numb free ride. My fingers are crossed I've finally found the right saddle. Weaknesses: This saddle caused a lot of numbness and pain. With so many other choices out there, steer away from this one.
