While there definitely is less genital numbness after a long ride with the allay saddle it still has to support your weight. So instead of having your weight more distributed over all of the saddle, the allay puts most of your weight on the back of the saddle. Although they call that their 'Sit Bone Comfort Zone' it's not terribly comfortable in the first place.
It always takes me the first 10 minutes of a ride to get adjusted, but thereafter I usually forget about it, just ride on and actually finish the ride with less numbness than with my previous saddle.
So yes, it works in regards to reducing numbness, still it's not hopp on forget about it. While with my previous saddle I started out comfortable from the beginning and then over time the numbness started ...
Have not played much yet with the inflatable air cushion, to fully inflate would defy the purpose of this saddle, so I only have a bit air in it. Can also be fully removed which I didn't try yet for a ride.
I'm 5'10 with ca 170 lbs and am only riding this saddle since 3 weeks now, commuting to work about 3 days a week and doing extended rides on the way home or the weekend. I think I might still be in the process of breaking in either the saddle or myself ;-) Strengths: - reduces numbness in genital area
- good build quality
- reasonable price Weaknesses: takes time to get uncomfortable as the saddle shifts all of the riders weight to the back of the saddle Similar Products Used: Specialized Toupé Gel saddle
