Price Paid:  $0.00 at LBS

Favorite Ride:
Roads without semis.

Bike Setup:
Merlin Extralight w/Dura Ace

Summary:
Horrible design on the clamp for this post. Nice post though as far as dampening. One of the post bolts stripped not only on the nut but also the allen wrench side rounded out. Horrible quality for a post such as this. I will never buy an Easton post again even though they've changed the design. I believe this was their first carbon foray into the seatpost category.
I had to find replacement workarounds for the the bolts and screws and I am replacing the seatpost entirely. I'll stick to the best there is: Thomson Elite.

Strengths:
Dampening, light.

Weaknesses:
Bolt design, lack of quality in the bolts included.

Similar Products Used:
Thomson, Titec, Uno

Price Paid:  $36.00 at eBay

Favorite Ride:
Anything off the trainer

Bike Setup:
Kona Jake the Snake frame
Ultegra/Dura Ace 10 gruppo
San Marco ASPide FX
EC90SLx
Race X Lite Carbon Aero wheelset
Tufo S3 Lite <215
Oval Concepts finishing kit

Summary:
Bought it because Easton is one of the very few to make a 26.8 carbon post. Really softens the ride compared to aluminum stays w/ a Thomson zero setback.

Heard about problems with post being cracked with too much clamping force, but found it nearly impossible to crack with the seatpost collar flipped around.

Ride a full alu bike with an alloy seatpost and deep section carbon wheels..you'll quickly understand the value of this post.

Strengths:
Compliant ride -- great for a bike that's bordering on too stiff already.
Stupid light
Easily adjustable
Comes in strange sizes

Weaknesses:
Compliant ride -- wastes energy and gives a dead feel if your bike is already pretty plush

Similar Products Used:
Nothing. The 26.8 EC70 is too rigid and is a tank compared to the CT2.

Favorite Ride:
Beartooth Pass

Bike Setup:
Litespeed Vortex
Mavic Ksyrium wheels
FSA Megaexo crankset

Summary:
I weigh 215# and found this post to give a very good ride initially. But to prevent slippage, you walk a fine line when cranking these down. And I went over that line and cracked some fibers.

This cracking lead to a lotta creaking, which made me weeping. I traded with my wife, who had an ITM Mellinium stem, and killed two birds with one stone. She's happy with a soft ride and so am I with a noiseless one.

Strengths:
Lightweight
Softer ride

Weaknesses:
Creaks a ton

Similar Products Used:
ITM Mellinium

Price Paid:  $100.00 at don't remember

Favorite Ride:
Anywhere in beautiful Sonoma Co

Bike Setup:
Airborne Zep w/ DA triple - fantastic ride!

Summary:
Poor post all around. Very flexy. And I find it very annoying that the clamp keeps sliping. Hard to motor in a paceline when that happens. Wish I didn't get it.

Strengths:
light, but I agree w/ the other review: aren't all carbon post supposed to be light?

Weaknesses:
flexy; clamp slips;

Favorite Ride:
Mingus Mountain

Bike Setup:
Cannondale SI Optimo, full Dura Ace, Velomax Ascent II's.

Summary:
I really do not like this post. I feel that it is harder to adjust than some others plus it creaks and slips. I weigh 163 pounds. Honestly I just don't feel that you get your moneys worth.

Strengths:
light weight, but aren't all carbon posts light?

Weaknesses:
Creakiness and slippage.

Similar Products Used:
Shimano, other Eastons. Personally I'd rather own an Easton EC70.
