Strengths:    Mindless shifting. Smooth. Very precise. Shift equally well from both being on the hoods and in the drops. Carbon feels great on the hands; feels sort of like wood, in a good way.

Weaknesses:    The upshift buttons get a little sticky after two years of hard use. I actually had to lubricate them.

RD is a little touchy, however. But that's another part. :-)

    Bottom Line:
Best shifting I've ever experienced. I like the fact that the brake levers don't ride inward with a shift, a'la Shimano. LOVE the upshift buttons on the inside.

How do I adjust the "play" in 1st Gen. Campy Record 10 freehub body?

I'm preparing to build up a set of tubular wheels using an older wheelset I have with Campy Record 10 hubs. I noticed the freehub (not the axle) has a bit of "play" in it, which causes the cassette to have a bit of a wiggle. I've searched online and haven't found a definitive answer to how to ad ... Campag Record freehub issue (latest black model)

I have purchased a new Campagnolo record rear hub for a winter wheel build. When comparing it to another Record rear hub I already have (exact same model, pretty much as new), I’ve noticed the sound of the new hub's freehub body when spinning is extremely quiet. The older one with white/cream col ... Read More »
