at eBay Bike Setup: Kona Kapu with complete 6500 Ultegra and 6510 shifter upgrade. Summary: These shifters do an excellent job. Shimano improved them a lot over the previous ST-6500s - it takes less effort and less motion to shift, the shifting is more precise and the 6500's infamous unwillingness to upshift when the small lever is accidentally touched is gone.
On the downside, they scratch incredibly easily. Leaning the bike to a wall is a bad idea, as you'll scratch the shifters once they touch it. This shouldn't happen with a top-notch product like this. Strengths: - Excellent, crisp, precise shifting
- Good ergonomics
- Better mechanics than their predecessors
- Good (but not very good) looks Weaknesses: - Very sensitive finish. The slightest touch of a rough surface is enough to scratch them, especially the plastic caps.
- Can only downshift one gear at a time Similar Products Used: ST-6500
