Strengths:    Great operation
Feeling the shift
Very light

Weaknesses:    Price jump

Bottom Line:
I prefer any SRAM road drivetrain over Shimano or Campagnolo because I like to 'feel' the shift instead of not even feel a click. The Force shifters accomplish this just fine but I've put the value at only 3/5 because I have extensive experience with Apex and Rival and don't notice much difference at all. I don't think it's any more reliable mechanically or in operation, just much lighter. I wouldn't upgrade to Force if you already have a SRAM drivetrain. If you do have SRAM and want to upgrade, go to Red!

Rival >> 105

I just spent some time shopping for a new bike, and I am surprised to see that bikes equipped with Rival are more expensive than 105. Since when? Isn't there still a bunch of molded plastic all over those rival derailers?Read More »

Nashbar 'Famous Maker' road bike with SRAM Rival $899 plus shipping

Pretty rare to see a road bicycle with a Rival component group for this low. A Rival group alone would run you pretty close to the cost of this whole bike. And Shimano 105 pedals included? Cool! Only 48, 51, and 60 cm sizes left. http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Prod...1___204204 [Q ... Read More »
