Strengths: Its doesnt look like every other stem.Wont work for every boring roadbike that middle aged riders fashion show around.Weaknesses: Perhaps a little heavy for the gram weenie groupBottom Line: Have the Mutant on a 2001 Schwinn Fastback Comp, with candy cane bar tape and white leather streamers, with a white regal ghirardi saddle with copper studs...looks totally trick. Great stem, distinctive styling, solid response, has beautiful polished finish.

Strengths: all around a solid stem.Weaknesses: none really,Bottom Line: No problems at all. Got it when I had to swap it to go threadless on my road bike. It's stiff and doesn't make a sound. Slap it on right and forget it.... And I put in some mean miles, have even cyclocrossed on it, crashed more times than I can remember. The stem has held it's own. Will probably outlast me.
Favorite Ride: elfin, palomar, telograph canyon road.
