Zipp's unidirectional carbon and titanium SL Speed Carbon Stem tips the scales at just 102 grams in the 100mm length without giving up the strength and stiffness needed for demanding race conditions. Rearward-facing bolts thread directly into the faceplate to minimize weight while the bottom edge of the clamp is design to contact the body of the stem in order to reduce flexing. Self-aligning washers at the steerer clamp mean that the bolt stays straight as its tightened reducing long-term stress on the system.
