2000 Trek 2000 (recently upgraded the drivetrain to Ultegra/Dura-Ace mix) Summary:
I just removed the stock bottom bracket from my 2000 model year Trek aluminum bike. After 5,000 miles of tough riding, i was expecting to see some signs of wear, though I've never had any reason to wonder about the dependability of my bottom bracket. The UN-52/Tiagra bottom bracket was in excellent condition, still demonstrating that smooth hydraulic action that makes you think it is new. If you are wondering abou the durability of this BB, wonder no more. You can get thousands and thousands of worry-free miles out of this little number. The UN-52 is heavy, and upgrading to a better model is very cheap, so I advise the move up to the Ultegra model when it is convenient. But for an inexpensive stock bottom bracket, the UN-52 Tiagra promises many miles of solid performance Strengths:

Fuji w/105 8sp Summary:
I put bottom brackets into that category parts that you don't have to think about very often, along with handlebars, seatposts, etc. General maintenance is inevitable, but you shouldn't have to make adjustments after every ride. The UN52 fits this to a T. It ain't fancy, is a little heavy, but it gets the job done. But, if when I have to replace mine, I'll spend the extra money (less than $10) to move up to the UN72. For the small uptick in price, you lose a decent amount of weight and gain some durability (supposedly). Strengths:

A mix of everything that i had put together to look like something that resembles a bike. Summary:
Great bottom bracket for the price, Shimano is normally pretty good for reliability, i've only ever had trouble with their derailleurs.
I've had no troubles with it, it is good value for money, and not a bad unit overall. So 4 stars a piece for value and overall. Strengths:
