at performancebicycles Favorite Ride: palomares/calaveras/Mt.diablo/hamilton Bike Setup: Lemond sarthe/ ultegra grouppo/ Summary: Its by far the best concept but the bearings are less than ideal. Doesnt spin as smooth as my ol ultegra octalink and I believe it does rob you of precious wattage in the longhaul. This is my second outboard bb from shimano and I thought the first one was a dudd so I bought another one..to my dismay. Now Im back to my old ultegra octalink bb and I am not as fatigue climbing Mt.Hamilton with my standard crankset as compare to the compact/outboard bb. Strengths: design.ease of installation Weaknesses: crappy bearings doesnt spin as smooth as the old oct Similar Products Used: none

at lbs Favorite Ride: rolling hills Summary: I have used both the italian and english
treads for this bottom bracket with the same ultegra cranks, the ease of installation is a snap.Installation of the cranks is quick and simple.
Compared to the old octa link system the gap in development is enormous if the subjective peddle test is anything to go by. Strengths: Ease of installation
Stiff feel of the hole unit when used with cranks. Weaknesses: Apparently the q factor is a bit wide .
