The Dura ace bottom bracket features a large 22mm diameter hollow pipe billet axle to reduce weight. Splined ends provide a more rigid, non-loosening crank assembly. Ball and needle bearing support the spindle to reduce flex. 217g

Strengths:    durability

Weaknesses:    none I can think of

Bottom Line:

I have used 7703 for years on my climbing bike, Litespeed Ultimate with 7703 and XTR RD, it works wonderfully, and I am a Clydesdale. I get a little FD grind but I have to work at it. The newer full catridge style 7703 BB are much better than earlier rebuildable XTR style. I have never done anything to this BB. I will pick up a spare for when I may need one 5 years from now. I have thought to go to 7800 or now 7900 but can not find any issue with 7703 so...
