Product Description

Complete brake cable set designed to suit the top-of-the-range Shimano Dura-Ace Road bike brakeset. Die-extruded manufacturing process for inner wire leaves a smooth surface for less friction in use, and Stainless steel provides smooth shifting and higher corrosion resistance. Sealed end caps with internal O-ring gives an effective seal against the elements, prolonging service life. Outer casing is lined with a polymer sheath to assist with the smooth operation of the inner wire.

Strengths:    Quality, pre-lube, housing and stainless steel cables hold up quite well over time.

Weaknesses:    Gray only.

Bottom Line:
Dura Ace brake cable set is top quality. It's pre-lubricated, strong and holds up well over time. It works well with any road group, certainly isn't limited to DA group users. I noted a $20 price, but it can often be bought for less. Shop around. I've paid closer to $12-15 most of the time. These cables are as good or better than some that tend to be more expensive.

This is not a sealed cable system, so is most appropriate for road bikes.

Best cut with proper cable snips, then be sure to square the ends with a file or grinder, then open up the inner liner with something pointy like an awl.

I wish it were available in a variety of colors. Gray is all I've ever seen.

Strengths:    Top quality, colour ok, cable-outer coated with good internal low friction sleeve, rigid cable outer for maximum braking efficiency, rain/splash protected outers.

Weaknesses:    None.

Bottom Line:
Highly recommended, average cable-outer weight, but this gives ridgidity, good price.
