Price Paid:  $65.00 at Manufacturer Website

Favorite Ride:
Cervelo R3

Bike Setup:
Cervelo R3 with Dura Ace.

Summary:
Review after initial installation; Installation was pretty straitforward after reviewing the supplied instructions and taking advantage of the resources available online, to include the installation tutorial video on youtube. The weight savings are in fact substantial (as far as cables go) however, I did not achieve the "...smooth, & responsive fingertip [shifting and braking] control..." the manufacturer website advertises. My initial impression is that there is more friction between the cable and housing than in new OEM shimano cables, despite lubing the housing as recommended. This adversely affects the feel at the shift and brake levers. I believe the quality of the Powercordz housing is the likely culprit. I am hoping the cables "wear in" and performance improves.

Strengths:
Light weight.

Weaknesses:
The housing. I was unable to achieve the perfomance attainable with OEM cables. rear shifting is still not quite sorted and the rear brake housing created so much binding the brake and brake lever would not /open return fully, despite lube and repeated adjustments made to the housing length using a Park cable/housing cutting tool and filing the housing ends to eliminate burrs. I ended up replacing this cable with new shimano cable/housing. Bottom line - I will not be purchasing these cables for my other bikes.

AFter having broken several shifter cables I decided to try the Power Cordz. One cable broke within a week on the rear derrailleur however it turns out I cooked it on my hitch rack with the exhaust from my truck. Good company support new one on working well no problems

Strengths:
lightweight, don't stretch so I havn't needed any adjustment at all. Shifts smoothly
