Price Paid:  $185.00 at ebay

Bike Setup:
Pinarello Prince, SRAM Red

Summary:
After 1300 miles on a brand new SRAM Red group I start having problems with chain slip and it turned out to be the cassette which was worn out on the most used cogs. This is very disappointing because wear should not occur at such low millage. Will swap it out for a DA7900.

Strengths:
Good looking

Weaknesses:
Very noisy, wears out quickly, shifting is not as crisp as Dura-Ace.

Similar Products Used:
Dura Ace 7800, 7900

Price Paid:  $230.00 at LBS

Favorite Ride:
hills

Bike Setup:
Cervelo Soloist SLC - DuraAce 7800 group, Zipp 303 wheels

Summary:
Bought a Sram Red 11-28 cassette for a mountainous ride that I do each year. It was installed 3 weeks before the ride. Shifting was noisy and poor from the start. Noise decreased somewhat, but still much louder than Shimano. Shifting never improved even after multiple attempts by the LBS. New Shimano 7800 chain, then new 7900 chain, lots of shifting tweaks. No help. This was with a DuraAce 7800 rear derailleur. Overall very slow shifting, especially to a lower gear, worse under load. It never felt like it made a crisp, positive shift. Shifting bad even in smaller cogs. Definitely not compatible with Shimano.

Strengths:
Lighter and less costly than DuraAce. Supposed to last longer than other makes, but this one will last forever in the back of the cabinet.

Weaknesses:
Poorest shifting cassette I've ever experienced.

Similar Products Used:
Shimano DuraAce 7800 and Ultegra
