Summary: Use with a Superlink connector - forget Campy's proprietary joining system. $10 and no fooling with all their special tools, etc. Chain is noticeably quieter than the Wipperman 10s chain. Shifting quality is acceptable. Chain feels strong.

Summary: As far a chains go this one works well. I have absolutely no problem with shifting, noise, or otherwise. Wear characteristics seem to be reasonably good. I am on my second chain in my second season. No problem here. I do have a problem with the engineering and the engineering philosophy on this one though. Good engineering means you design something that works well, within reasonable contraints, price, functionaltiy, etc, AND that is easy to maintain/practical to use. This one is not! The permalink concept as far as an engineering concept is majorly flawed. The special tool I initially bought with the first chain was outrageously expensive. The additonal links were too expensive making it impractical to take off for maintenance. Then to top it all off, after the first replacement chain, Campagnolo changed the design, making my chain tool an expensive piece of scrap, since it is not good for any other chain. The second chain system is simailary bad, requiring and expensive tool, and a special section of chain to rejoin it should you want to seperate any links. From an engineering AND from a user's standpoint this is poor design. I ended up buying a special aftermarket link to allow me to remove and reinstall without a chain tool (available at Branford bike for about 12 bucks, adding to the expense if this chain). I will go with Wipperman for the future or even the Dura ace chain (still cheaper than the Campy chain).
Strengths: Shifts well, sufficiently quiet and smooth.
Weaknesses: Bad bad bad design! Cannot be taken off and reinstalled on the bike without expensive chain tools and expensive replacement links/sections.

Summary: Shifts great but it doesn't last long at all. Need to replace it 3-4 times a season on a bike that is raced and trained on from April through Dec. That gets expensive. Never ridden on rainy/snowy days. SRAM chains seem to last at least twice as long. Going to try Wipperman chain next

Summary: I must have done about 13500 kms on this chain and will replace it soon. It's worked fine and I've never broken this or any other chain, although I'm only 67kg. I don't notice that it works any better than the prior 9spd chain. I also assembled the chain using the traditional method, push pin out - push pin in. The permalink was impossible to install without the correct tool and at ~ $70+ US.. not sure if I'm going to buy one.
