Strengths: Works well.Weaknesses: Too expensive. Not reusuable. Poor design. Use an SRAM 9 speed link like I have for the last 2 years.Bottom Line: Installing the perma link is NOT rocket science. Anyone who buys the expensive Campy tool just has money to burn or has bought into the Campy hype. I use a $2 beam clamp and have NEVER had a problem.

Strengths: It does join the chain well. Never broke (of course neither have other systems).Weaknesses: Bad design. Special tool costs 70 bucks, link itself 12 or so. That is an expensive proposition if you like to remove your chain for cleaning.Bottom Line: Permalink: an example of poor engineering. Complicated to install, expensive to buy. Requires special dedicated tool for a relatively simple function.
