1-piece carbon fiber arm/spider design with a core of structural foam and an integrated (UT) Ultra-Torque, Hirth joint semi-axle bottom bracket spindle
Bike Setup: Specialized Roubaix Pro framset, Rolf Prima Elan wheelset, and Campy Record Groupset.
Summary: I own the 2006 Record 10 CT Crankset, but this review is applicable to the Chorus. This review concerns a manufacturing defect with the crankset and Campy's unwillingess repair the crankset.
Recently, when removing the pedal from the right crankarm, the the alloy insert of the crankarm came out along with the pedal. My LBS contacted Campy about a fix, and they replied that it could not be fixed; that a new crankset was required. My LBS told me that they believe this response is BS. The insert was obviously threaded into the crankarm at some point of the manufacturing process and some compound was used to prevent the insert from coming out along with a pedal. I did not ask for free service (my 3 year warranty is up) or a replacement. All I wanted was a repair at cost to me. It is obvious to my LBS and to me that repair should be possible. I expected more from Campy, so be aware of this issue before buying.
Strengths: Precise Shifting, little flex, styling that lasts.
Weaknesses: The pedal insert came out along with the pedal, and Campy says there is no fix other than replacing the entire crankset.

Bike Setup: Full Campy Ultra Record 10 with Chorus 10s Ultra Torque Carbon crank.
Summary: absolutely perfect. no flex. instant power transfer. very light. great warranty. sexy carbon weave. great Q factor. virtually no friction. SPINS freely.
Strengths: I found out just how good this crankset is, by purchasing it after giving up on FSA after TWO broken KForce cranks. FSA showed me just how AMAZING Campy UT Carbon equipment really is.
No other crank spins as freely as this UT design, with the bearings onboard in the crank arms, rather than in a bottom bracket.
Bike Setup: R3 Cervelo, Full Chorus now. Campy Neutron wheels. Michelin Pro Race 2. FSA bars and stem
Summary: Light and direct. First impression was a firmness in the pedal and sole of the shoe but after a few miles this became the standard feel. Upon riding some more distance the smoothness of the BB came into play and the campy drive train became one in so much that no flaws or weaknesses were apparent and literally felt non existent. My prior FSA crankset in reflection ran a little course even though it was well looked after. Spun well and light in the pedal stroke, and noticed a little more edge in punching up hills, with no flex that I could tell. The complete package when using a full campy outfit and just make sense
Strengths: Smooth BB, light and flawless when used in a campy system
Weaknesses: None
