    Favorite Ride:
    Monty's Hairdresser

    Bike Setup:
Dura Ace through and through on a custom built Colnago frame. Occasional Record depending on race.

    Summary:
I'm not sure that the cranks the first and third reviewers are refering to are the same ones as the second reviewer is refering to. The Coda 900 cranks, designed by Alex Pong and Magic Motorcycle in the 90's are probably some of the best cranks ever built. He helped pioneer the modern Hollowtech technology. They do not use, as stated by one reviewer, a shimano BB. The BB is a specific BB for the Coda 900 cranks. The cheap as hell part, well, like I said they are either a bit confused or got REALLY lucky. These things fetched 700.00 bucks back in the day and still demand 350.00-400.00 on ebay. These are fantastic cranks and Alex Pong was a genius. Super stiff, super light. They are not a cheap option however. If you get a set of these, hold on to them! As good as any Carbon Campy I've ridden!

    Strengths:
    Strong, stiff, light. Stiff.

    Weaknesses:
    Expensive, unavailable

    Similar Products Used:
    Dura-ace, Record carbon.

    Favorite Ride:
    Boston Montreal Boston

    Bike Setup:
high end with lots of carbon, dura ace shifters and stiff light wheels that are way more durable than the Ksyrium SL TRASH!

    Summary:
I bought these for the first bike I built... some people compare these to 105's, but having used ultegra, dura ace, and campy cranks, I could not tell you any difference between any of them on a dark night...

if you need a crankset, and don't have lots of money, these are PERFECT!

    Strengths:
solid and CHEAP AS HELL! uses shimano Bottom Brackets

    Weaknesses:
    none

    Similar Products Used:
105, ultegra, dura ace, a variety of campy cranks as well

    Bike Setup:
    CAAD 5, Dura-Ace, Coda 900

    Summary:
Light (570 grams... 175mm w/Specialites TA 53-39 rings) and STIFF. Haven't been made since 1999 and retailed for $800-$1000, used examples still fetch $250-$400. Still the most innovative design around, and ranks high as desirable exotica.

    Strengths:
Ultra-wide bearing placement, drive-side bearings are inline with chainrings--STIFF. Super light hollow eliptical crank arms--STIFF.

    Weaknesses:
    No longer made.

    Price Paid:  $60.00 at nashbar.com

    Summary:
I picked this crank up off an internet site when i built a bike because the price was great, 60 and i thought i'd give it a chance. Mine is a triple and seemes to be quite heavy. I'm pretty shure the chain rings are steel so you could swap them out cheaply enough. They sit off the bottom braket quite a bite so a correct bottom braket is essential to keep you from sending the chain in between.

    Strengths:
    good value, chaep $60
    stiff
    triple

    Weaknesses:
    heavy
    need right BB

    Similar Products Used:
    Many Shimano's
