Description The K-Force is a marvel because it goes where Shimano fears to tread: Its arms and spider use monocoque carbon fiber construction to keep weight to a minimum and even though it's made from carbon, you...
Summary: this crank is garbage. FSA is garbage. fell apart apart after 3 months, have been waiting weeks for a replacement, which will likely fail as well. buy something else, seriously.
FSA, you suck it!
Strengths: none.
Weaknesses: spindle and pedal inserts fail.

Summary: This crank started off strong, it looks great, seemed stiff and ran smoothly. i had it less than a year and 4 months of that year were over the winter (not much riding). i noticed a little funny play and thought i had bent a pedal spindle, only to have the entire non drive side crank arm fall off towards the end of a ride. . . luckily i was only 6-7 miles from home. it currently is being sent to FSA to see if they will replace. i am a big guy 6'4" 210, but used my old 105 cranks for years without a single problem. needless to say i am completely disappointed with FSA and will probably switch to Dura-Ace crank even if they give me a new one.
Strengths: looks good and performs well. . . if it stays on your bike that is.
Weaknesses: falls off and continually wiggles itself free from a small engineering flaw.

Bike Setup: Madone, FSA Plasma, D/A wheels and group, Time rxs, King headset.K Force cranks
Summary: I ride probably 30-60 miles a day,
150 pound 5'10 rider who loves climbing-
I hammer on the cranks but I'm not a heavy guy.
I read about all the failures people are having. Changed my pedals 3 times (from Look to Time, and then when the Time was recalled I replaced them) Never have I had any problem/issue of any sort with my cranks. People who go crazy over tightening, and stripping the thread or damaging the crank can not blame the crank for their own missuse. The cranks are fine- super stiff and all. I cant say that aside from stiffness I notice a huge difference over my former D/A or even Ultegra cranks but they do work well and without problems, so I cant complain.
Strengths: STIFF
Light
Look peomp
Weaknesses: Cost
Look so good it can be embarassing

Bike Setup: 2005 Trek Madone with Dura Ace components including a 12-25 Dura Ace cassette.
Summary: Just finished a 400 mile, 4-day ride with 23,000 feet of climbing. The ride was over 3 mountain passes (Stevens Pass, Blewett Pass and Chinook Pass). The crank set performed perfectly and saved my legs. Power transfer is impressive and was a noticeable upgrade from my Ultegra crank set. Acceleration is immediate. I have at total of 800 miles on the crank set. The group I ride with is made up of road racers, triathletes and randonneurs.
Strengths: Light weight, power transfer, very smooth
Weaknesses: Crank arms scuff easily.

Summary: This is a follow-up on my earlier review. My K-Force underwent a failure of the drive-side pedal insert last Friday. This is the third, repeat third failure of an insert (other 2 were non-drive BB inserts) on an FSA crank in the last 2 years (2 K-Force, 1 Superlight). In my experience at least their warranty service has been good, if not perhaps perfect (they could send out the new part before receiving the old one, at least for people who’ve had multiple failures). They are “upgrading” me to a K-Force Lite with ceramic BB, which is also a nice gesture. I wonder how long that one will last!
Strengths: It looks damn good, stiff.
Weaknesses: It breaks. A lot.
