Stiff, appear durable, light
none I can see
After reading the horror stories about many other K-force cranks, I was hesitant about purchasing these, but the advertised weight of 455 grams tempted me. I guess FSA had problems with the chainrings in the original run of these from 2005, because I bought the ones they came out with sometime in 2006 with the beefed up chainrings similar to the MegaExo cranks. Total weight with these chainrings is 495 grams as confirmed by my scale.
Anyway, I've got maybe 2500-3000 miles on them now and they are freakin' perfect. Lowest rotating weight out there and man they are stiff. I weigh about 155, and while I like to turn a big time trial gear, I am not a masher. So I don't know how they would hold up for a heavy or very powerful rider.
I use them with the FSA Platinum Pro Ti Bottom bracket, which feels more solid than my DA or Ultegra ones from the past. So basically, there's nothing not to like here. I have not tried other high end, very stiff carbon cranks, nor have I tried Campy Record cranks. But these are far better than DA and Ultegra.
