Strengths: This connects similar to the way the Shimano 7800 Dura Ace connects, only I think the spline FSA uses is much better than the one Shimano uses.. Much more meat for the Crank arm to grab hold of.
I have 3,000 miles on this set, so far, and no issues...Weaknesses: for a bigger racer with lots of power, this crank set is holding strong! No weaknesses to report..Bottom Line: I broke the drive side crank arm of the FSA SLK mega exo carbon, for the SECOND TIME after only 2800 miles (just after I turned the bearings to powder and replaced them)... I specifically requested a METAL crankset, and the FSA representative, (who really was awesome, they have great customer service :-) ) hooked me up with the standard sized Energy complete with BB and new chain rings!
I have been beating the snot out of this crank set ever since! Crossing the magic threshold, I believe the new BB is much better than the ones that came with the SLK carbon set... Good stuff
Favorite Ride: BMB
Purchased At: FSA
Similar Products Used: Shimano 7800 Dura Ace is the only crankset I have used that compares... all of the rest used a different technology of some sort thus not really being good for comparison..
Bike Setup: 3 bikes, All high end.. mixed with Shimano and Campy, Just bought topolino wheels.. am working on a review on them!! I use Ksyrium SL's and some hand built jobs with White Industries Hubs and CXP-33 rims.. good stuff!
