Strengths:    Stiffness

Weaknesses:    -Only one chain ring selection 48 teeth
-Price is high when compared to other track/fixed gear cranks

Bottom Line:
I was looking at simplifying my riding so I converted my Cervelo P2SL into a fixed gear. My LBS recommended the Omnium due to the convinients of installation. I took their recommndation and installed them within an hour and was out riding that afternoon. I quickly felt the stiffness and solid feel of the cranks. I'm set up in a 48/18 configuration that give me plenty punch and also a reserved feeling when pedaling. Looking forward to my first century on a fixed this year. It's like having an aero BMX that makes me want to ride more without the luggage of gears, wires, cool groupos, and all that other cool stuff that I can do without.

Looks like it is not even close, must be about 46 or 47MM. It does not look like it is going to work so I'm thinking of pul ... Read More »

Sram Omnium vs. Dura Ace

Has anyone tried both? My bike came with 165mm Dura Ace cranks. I'd really prefer 170s. The DA cranks are $309 while the Omniums can be had for $173 -- and they come with a chainring. Is it worth it? Omnium: [url=]SRAM Omnium Track ... Read More »

PAL Omnium, Lake County, Florida

Hi. Does anyone have knowledge/experience with this race? It is a staged event (Crit, TT, RR) in June. Wondering about the race tempo, topography...really any information. I'm from Texas and will be in Florida on business, and then have a few days off. Since I'll be in Florida, I figured it ... Read More »
