$0.00 Bike Setup: Current bike setup is USS SWB recumbent with 28/42/52 crank & 9-speed 11-34 freewheel. My normal riding style is cadence of 105rpm with about 210-220rpm maximum. I prefer to constantly spin & never stop pedaling while riding. Summary: TruVativ Elita triple crankset with 130mm bolt circle & 175mm crankarms on USS SWB recumbent bicycle is poor choice for experienced riders that use the equipment instead of straining their bodies. Strengths: Shifting from middle to large ring & vice versa's quick & smooth. Is difficult shifting to granny gear but this may be function of front dérailleur limitations. Weaknesses: Crankset's low quality, heavy & poor choice of Omega USS SWB recumbent bike manufacturer. Doesn't permit suitable change in ring sizes to yield full range, smooth shift patterns. So called 'reliable bike shops' don't offer middle chainring under 42T & large chainring under 52T. 175mm crank-arms on recumbent aren't long enough for leverage to take advantage of inherent efficiencies found in a recumbent. Similar Products Used: I've used Campagnolo Record, Shimano, Stronglite, Sugino & TA cranksets in over 100,000 miles of riding on touring tandems and single road racing machines as well as commuting vehicles.

Full Ultegra 6603 Setup
Vuelta XRP Wheels Summary: This Crankset refused to drop the smallest chainring unless you were on the 5th or 6th largest sprocket. Shifting up from the smallest-middle-Large chainring was fine. Strengths: Cheap. Weaknesses: Cheap. Chainring Flex under load. Shift. Similar Products Used: Ultegra Triple 6603.

at Incl on bike Favorite Ride: Peninsula ride, Cape Town, South Afica Bike Setup: Truvativ elita triple with 105 shifter at the front. 105 shifter & cluster at rear, Ultegra chain. 105 STi's & Shimano cables Summary: The crankset came with the bike. It worked loose in the first 100km, thereafter it's been fine. Changes with a 105 derailleur are good, though adjustment has to be just right. Once set, it stays that way.
Its great for really steep climbs, or a climb at the end of a long hard ride. Done about 7500km so far with very little wear. Strengths: Reliable smooth changes.
Looks good
Weaknesses: Fiddly to get changes perfect.
Probably a bit heavy Similar Products Used: None

at the bicycle outlet Favorite Ride: anywhere Bike Setup: stock schwinn fastback comp. Summary: The Large crank kept warping. I would bend it back and it would go out of alignment after the next ride. Called the company who agreed to replace the large crank. Bought an older model(2001-2002) which is working great. Strengths: Company agreed to replace without a hassle. Weaknesses: larg crank warps.

$0.00 Summary: Truvativ 52/42/30 crank & BB o 2006 Cannondale R700. Failed, with only 83 miles on it, ONE MILE from the summit of Mt. Washington during the 2006 hill climb August 19th. Retaining bolt failed, inner threads stripped. I was only going 3.5 mph on a 15% uphill. had that been a straight sprint or fast downhill -- it would have been ugly. Strengths: None. OK -- maybe it can be melted down into beer cans. Weaknesses: See review. Similar Products Used: Replaced with Shimano 105 set. C'dale should do same and charge the $100 or so more -- this is dangerous!
