Strengths: Weight - has Carbon Record and Dura-Ace each beat by 100 grams.
Only carbon cranks produced in the States.
Looks hot.
Extremely stiff.Weaknesses: Shifting leaves some to be desired.Bottom Line: This is definitely a nice crankset, and is unbelievably stiff. The Zipp 175 bottom bracket provides a nice smooth stroke, but it's not seen much for dirt or water yet.
This is also by far the lightest crankset on the market that I'm aware of, but feels more solid than any shimano cranks I've ridden (many which I think are also very nice).
My one complaint is that I don't find the shifting to be as clean as it was on my shimano cranks, that cost only $200. In fact, it happens rather often that when shifing up into the large chainring, the chain pops off onto the bb shell, then climbs back up and engages after some finesse. If I'd paid retail for these cranks, I'd be disappointed about the shifting, as I'd expect an $800 crankset to perform flawlessly, but for $450 for the cranks and bb, I'll accept near perfect.
