Time Xpresso 15 Pedals

DESCRIPTION

Time Xpresso 15 is the latest addition to the Road Lineup and it is by far the most impressive pedal in the world! Newly designed with oversized platforms of 700mm?, the Time engineers have produced a new level of super light and strong pedal set. Weighing in at only 140grams per pair, this pedal set uses the same proven Iclic system: the huge weight reduction by hollowing out the axle and changing the bearings to Ceramic. With a SPEED Carbon body protected by an aluminum platform plate, these pedals will last thousands of miles of exceptionally hard riding.

Strength:

+ Typical float with light re-centering feel I have depended on for decades + Have had Time pedals since 1990 and this is closest feel to original feel for float & re-centering + Very light, with large platform + Good cornering clearance

Weakness:

- Yet another Ti/Carbon Time pedal with bearing issues - Bought the 15 with CeramicSpeed expecting smooth and reliable action on spindle - Had to return 2 pairs of this pedal due to grinding noise in a pedal in each pair; noise on bike was insane and clearly only a matter of time before the ceramic bearings would become worthless - Engagement not always reliable, which would force me to unclick and re-enter pedals. Thankfully I track-stand at most lights, but race starts and general use makes it a real test. - Time... you broke my heart after 30 years and now I have to use something else, but what???

Strength:

Work like all xpresso pedals so easy to engage and un-clip. Big platform great adjustable float.

Weakness:

Cost. Weight is 9 to 12 grams heavier than claimed. Ceramic speed bearings were not installed correctly and are binding on every revolution. Time will not respond to any contact by myself and Ceramic Speed. The on line retailer says this is a warranty issue so these are going in the trash and I'm out the very high cost.

Not user serviceable.

Do Not buy these on line. Unless you can test the bearings your self don't buy them at all. My Xpresso Titian 12's which are actually under the advertised weight, weigh 6 grams more than these.
